    Nd5 is simpler and better...

Of course, u omit to tell that black can do better, especially at move 7 (several good moves and white is close to be lost).

You talkin' ta' me? Of course black can do better. I don't know who I was playing. You know how it is when you play online. I don't think it was any kinda' whizz at this game. For all I know, it was Donald Trump or Mike Tyson playing black........

Not difficult to understand who i was talking.

In Melvinbluestone's 1st game, you messed up with 9.Rf2. 9.g3 instead, would have turned the tables round!

If 9. g3 had been played instead of 9. Rf2 the opponent might have continued 9... Bc5 anyway.

thx irahranchad for your analysis lol...

In all your analysis, like many players, u make opposite side playing the moves u "want".

But u know, u are not alone and your opponent is not here to make you win...

Think about your possibilities and about your opponent's.

I used to play this myself, but with 7. Qxf3. 7.0-0 allows black to have some fun as well with 7...Nxd4! 8. Qxd4 Qg5! (8. Bxf4 Bc5! is even more horrible for white). Fun stuff, but way too much risk IMO. Gets full points for spiciness though!!

I blundered into a variation of this line when I mixed up the move order in a Muzio-type set-up, and then my opponent didn't take the knight immediately after pushing g4. I was completely disoriented and had to take a Dramamine to regain my composure. But by then it was too late......

Ouch. Know how much it hurts, trust me... wink.png

Tables are inteed turned and smashed on white's head... 9...Bc5 does look like it wins a whole queen.

4.h4 is more of a winning try and your bloody assish 4.d4.... Check the IM's comment man!

Sorry to drift a bit from the topic, but just what is black's best response to 4.Nc3 in the KGA (after 3.Nf3 g5)?

4...Nc6 is popular, and so is 4...Bg7. Looking at the DBs, I guess either one is as good a try as anything. 4...g4 is also a lot of fun, but probably gives a an edge to white to after the almost forced exchange of queens on g4 (4.Nc3 g4 5.Ne5 Qh4+ 6.g3 fxg3 7.Qxg4).

Here's few games with 4...Nc6 line:

In this game, the position is reached via a Vienna Gambit:

You'll notice in the first game white's moves are liberally populated with exclaims. This has nothing to do with the fact that I won......... wink.png

I think they reversed the names, though... this is Zukertort vs Anderssen, not Anderssen vs Zukertort.
