I like Qb3 rather than the immediate Bxf7

gambiteer12

My conclusion is don't play the gambit.

gambiteer12

Black plays c5 with a comfortable advantage.

This is getting very confusing, I made a thread to store all of the lines

I think this is a good final bit of wisdom Do not argue with idiots. they  will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Damn shame to see a honest to God math professer gettin yanked around like a trout.

The_Gavinator

You can discuss lines on the defences to Parham Thread. I made it to clear up these confusing lines.

Anyways, did everyone ever find a solid defence to this? I've been using this on chesscube with success. How would you play against this:

The_Gavinator

I'd then do 9. c3.

The_Gavinator

Followed by 10. d4 Laughing

The_Gavinator

11. Qb5 Nxc4 12. Qxc4, and white regains the pawn with a nice position.

gambiteer12

If you want to play a gambit, whatever is wrong with the Scotch Gambit.

The_Gavinator

gambiteer, see above.

gambiteer12

What do you suggest white plays Gav? I don't see anything.

The_Gavinator

I'm sorry, speeding up the process, ok after cxd4 I can play Bxe7 and be up a nice queen:

The_Gavinator

gambiteer, I'm not entirely sure where this is going, but I'd like to give Nf4 a shot.

gambiteer12

I'm not convinced 9.c3 or 10.d4 are the best moves for white.

The_Gavinator

joey, that gives back the gambit pawn, although I'll agree black looks better, this was just a creative try, I think the mainline Parham might be better.
