I face d4 way to much, and I play the Dutch against it
The Queenside Fried Liver
That's why I propose this opening to help stop the drawish nature of d4! It's not as risky as the blackmar gambit, but still is aggressive. The thing is, by looking at opening explorers, after d4 d5 nc3, nf6 is most popular, and after d4 nf6 nc3, d5 is most popular. Than you can play bf4, and black is faced with the options I listed in a previous post.
Gavinator, you are very stubborn. you play a couple opening moves hoping for the right response. you back up your madness by saying the qsfl is almost as good as the parham attack. they dont call it the patzer opening for nothing. i guess you never been beaten by the kiddie countergambit or you wouln't be touting the parham.
Actually it's called the Patzer because it is overlooked by arrogant people who say it must be for beginners because it defies opening principles by moving your queen out. So what? My most recent game I played with it I had won a rook in the first 10 moves. And I don't hope for a specific response. I realize most people won't fall for the fork. The beauty of it is how blacks position is crippled while fighting off the fork. And btw, it's called the kiddie countergambit for a reason. It's not a sound defence, it is played by kids who respond that way when they first see the Parham.
to jetfighter13. i like the dutch because most people dive right in when i play 1...f5. i like, hopefully, fighting of their early attack and then, hopefully again, counterattacking. may not be the soundest defense but it's fun to play if your not to concerned about your rating. my main reason to raise my rating is so i can play higher rated players, those games get my adrenaline going, win or lose.
gavinator, who are you playing that responds to 2.qh5 with 2...g6, because thats the only way to win a rook with that opening. 2...nc6 is the correct response but i like 2...nf6 because patzers bite on the e5 pawn. they call it the kiddie countergambit because people play 2.qh5 against children, not adults.
Jim, i cannot even begin to say how dumb you are. The parham was played by nakamura and the qsfl by boris spasky. If you have a problem with it go to them about it. Also, you should stop calling people patzers when you are the exact definition of a patzer. Plus 2. g6 is not the only way to win a rook in the parham and anything that black does to stop the fork in the qsfl crushes his position to slowly lose, just take longer to.
No it's called the kiddie countergambit because that's what kiddies play when they are faced with this. And actually I won it on the 8th move, you are just don't realize the potential of the Parham Attack.
i haven,t lost with the kiddie countergambit yet. how the hell do you lose a rook on move 8 to 2.qh5 ? i called you stubborn buy i'd like to add that you are somewhat verbally abusive also. methinks you doth protest to much. if i was dull i wouln't answer 1.d4 with 1...f5.
whatupyodog and gavinator, neither of you are nakamura or spasky. verbal abuse is a sign of a narrow mind.
Really you would recommend opening up your kingside? I guess if you want to lose as quick as possible, play the dutch! And if you want to just give away pawns I guess you could go with the kiddie countergambit...
whatupyodog, the deffinition of Patzer to you and your ilk is anyone whom you could beat with your eyes closed, the definition of patzer to most people is anyone who plays like crap, and has no aspirations to gain better knowledge through sound and sane means, and who fights every attempt people make at trying to give them sage advice, sometimes violently.
jetfigher, I feel as if you have described yourself. Whatupyodog and I have done our best to promote a system which is succesful for us, to the chess.com community, yet you feel as if you must troll on this topic for seven pages. You hopelessly troll on this, even after we try to tell you that your "defences" agsint this aren't very good. Some people just don't listen to reason...
if your boring enough to answer 1.d4 with ...d5 it's still not necessary to answer 2.nc3 with ...nf6. what for, the d5 pawn isn't under threat of capture. there are any number of moves besides 2...nf6 that put an end to this qsfl nonsense, such as 2...e6, then if white still can't read the writing on the wall and plays 3.bf4 then 3...bd6 stops the qsfl in it's tracks, meeting white's queen bishop head on. i like the dutch defense because it's daring and risky and i'm batting 50% with it which is fine with me. i probably face 1.d4 less then 20% of the time because most people find it boring.
