Android notation app

Hi,

I'm looking for an android app to notate my games instead of using a notation sheet.
The app is to be used in club games  and should allow storing multiple games and exporting them (and maybe post-mortem analysis).

I searched the app store but didn't really find a suitable app. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Frans

I doubt anyone will be comfortable with you entering moves into a regular smartphone, even in a club game.

There were a number of special notation devices about 10 years ago, which were approved for use. However, they were expensive.

MonRoi?

Actually the envisioned usage is a tablet that is put open on the table for my opponent to see.

It would be fine to disconnect from the outside world.

Actually I noticed some chess clock apps, if people feel comfortable with that then why not notation.

I would like to create a database with my games without having to manually enter each game

And with my handwriting OCR is not too reliable 😄

The post and the provided link by @justbefair gave me some new suggestions for search terms.

This lead to the following two solutions:

An android app called clono:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fide.clono.chess.system&hl=en-UShttps://clono.no/This one is free and FIDE approved.

And a NEXUS based solution ChessNoter.
https://chessnoter.com/store/ChessNoteR-N6-Software-p723984886This requires a NEXUS and a $270 license.
Plus you need to send your device to them (in the US) for installation.
Not really something for an average club player in Europe.

(oh and of course there are the boards that do recording but that is less portable)

Clono can’t be used unless the tournament provides the tablet under the FIDE rules. The chessnoter can be purchased for $300 which includes the device. That version is currently under review by FIDE and approved by U.S. CHESS.

Why do you say this? I can install the clono fide app on my own tablet and notate with it with the quick game mode.

Of course your opponent could object, but in my club nobody did.
The tablet is always open on the table for all to see.
There is not really a way to cheat, but even if there was if one did so (s)he would be kicked from the club.

I've been using clono for a while now and I must say I am quite happy with it. It allows me to easily get the PGN of a completed game for analysis later. Actually one of my club members was quite happy that I shared the PGN with him, as it saved him time to enter the moves manually.

Only meant that the FIDE approval requires this. Not that it is not capable of being used.
