The Reti Blumenfeld Gambit

There exists a Reversed Blumenfeld Gambit in the Reti Opening. The moves are 1.Nf3 d5 2.c4 d4 3.e3 c5 4.b4.

Previously this gambit was called the Reversed Blumenfeld Gambit but I had decided to officially rename this gambit as the Reti Blumenfeld Gambit in honor of Richard Reti a grandmaster from a bygone era, He was the first to have played it officially against Tartakower in 1926 at Budapest .Reti was one of the founders of hypermodern
chess opening theory. The name Reversed Blumenfeld was really such as generic name that I felt compelled to rename this opening.

Listed below are some sample games.

After 4...dxe3 5.fxe3 cxb4 White has 6.d4. And like the Blumenfeld  Counter Gambit the White Bishops are placed at d3 and b2 and the Q at e2 where White will attempt to get a rolling pawn center down the middle of the board, If Black castles Kingside and White posts a pawn at e5 then Black will be in real danger of losing the game. White will also have the half open f file to conduct a Kingside attack.

Best Regards
Darth Musashi

Fear_ItseIf

Its an interesting idea

Fear_ItseIf

The alternate 3.b4 variation has names such as kramnik, korchnoi and radjabov to it. Is the reason this is not played more often because they wish to avoid the  3.e3 Nc6 lines?

TitanCG

Benonis where the queen's knight can be developed instead of the c-pawn are usually avoided. Maybe it's playable from White's side.

good point
