I used to play the Frankenstein-Dracula in OTB tournaments (that's a line in the Vienna).
The Vienna is the Greatest Opening of all time
it feels like a crime to pass up on the possibilities awaiting white in the ruy, or even the italian. my view is that the vienna is quite narrow, both in terms of white's play and black's responses. in the early goings this could be a huge advantage, but as you face more experienced opponents you will find it more and more difficult to eke out a win.
maybe it's a kind of middleground between the hard core ruy lopez and the hardcore king's gambit. or i could be way off.
