Shouldn't this be in the endgame study forum?  As a minimum couldn't you point out how a given line or opening leads directly to an endgame and thus the value and application of endgame study to the opening?

Certain opening lines lead to endgames, hence, the Berlin variation of the Ruy Lopez

But I don't htink there are any forced endgame openings

There are some which feature early exchange of Queens, King in the center, rapid piece exchanges.  Not lines I normally play thus I can't come up with concrete examples of the top of my head but anything featuring  an opening of the d-file early in the game leaves the possibility.
