Top three most effective opening traps?
The Lasker Trap is a nice trap in the Albin. It's very cool as you underpromote a pawn before move 10:
This nice trick (the Traxler) has been used by some GMs. Anand lost a game agaisnt the Traxler, and Shirov won one. There's also a game where Karpov drew with white against the Traxler.

What a trap!
what if at move 5 white playes Ng4? then what happens? i might not be able to see the cintinuation well here cos I'm beginner, but my guess is black will play Nc2 then Qxc2 then Qxg4 then rook to g1, it does not look too bad for white! or is it?

The most beautiful "humorous" opening trap for me is this one (the game is played by correspondence Chess, but unfortunately, i don't remember the Players...but it's real!!) :
1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6
After this move, the player with the black pieces say: on any move played by White, i would continue by 3...,Bg7.

this is actually an opening named Ruy Lopez
and black isn't forced to play a6. he can try Nf6, Berlin Defense, or Bc5 ,Classical Defense, with an even game...
I know i am 250 pts lower rated than you but...
I believe brillantboy is trying to be funny. I thought it was clever but I think many people missed his humor.
