pick any opening not seen in Candidates or World Championship play. Champions do not play bad (dubious) openings in matches concerning these tournaments.
So you mean four knights game is dumb? Grandmaster don't play it because it's a very equal position so they mess up the tempo advantage as white. Drawing a game with black is usually good at this level. Four knights game is of course not a dumb opening. Stop saying king's gambit guys, and try to appreciate the immortal game. You're free to say it but that's not my opninion

We won't stop! Things change over time. Theory changes. Nobody cares about the romantic period when it comes to openings. Studying historical games is not to improve your opening theory.
The King's Gambit is like Confederate Statues. Both are bad and both should be burned to the ground!

The King's Gambit is a horrible opening.
An opening may be bad, but it's not bad unless you know how to take advantage of its disadvantages. Why do you think halloween's gambit is played so much <1500?

You've got too many good arguments I can tell you no anymore. But I have a question for you, what do you think is the best tactical gambit, not positional like queen's. I think evan's gambit, even the engine says it ain't bad

have you watched "crush with the king's gambit" by GM simon williams (chess.com lessons)? I trust more recent theory than bobby fischer.

wow, you do not know what you are talking about. Four knights game recently played in 2018 FIDE Candidates Tournament. Kramnik-Aronian 1-0. i never stated anything was "dumb"; so thanks for twisting my words.

What about the Benko Gambit?

... is sound, but requires accurate handling of endgame and solid coverage of ideas. Would not recommend.
