Why hasn't anyone mentioned the Parham?

Putrid cabbage attack

the grob, aka the macho grobnik!

1.g4!? -or- 1...g5 as black. oh that one drove me nuts trying to figure it out until i learned to just push d & e to the center and look out for weird stuff. it's not so scary when you just develop normally. as a stonewaller, it ruined all my plans. you can't stonewall against g4 or e4

don't forget nakumura's wacky gambits! i can't find them, but i remember looking at one that maybe started 1.a3!? or something equally weird

the dodd gambit...

when you're certain to lose a game, swat the board and pieces off the table and yell

DODD GAMBIT!

here's a list of 60+ countergambits you can call up for evaluation:

a3 is anderssens, its not weird, you just prepare to play black when you are white.

G4 is grob. Try G4 F4. Bird + grob.

[from my point of view]

Weird chess opening with black :

a :  1) e4-e5 2) Nf3-f5

This kind of king gambit with reversed color is weird because when player with white plays 1) e4-e5 2) f4 player with black just plays  2)...Bc5 and he's satisfied about the opening while when we play with white 1) e4-e5 2) Nf3-f5 we are in a similar position but with the Knight already developed in f3 and we say to ourselves that there is no reason why this opening should cause us more problems with an additional piece developed but when we play 3) Bc4 after 3)...exf4 "it is precisely this Cf3 that bothers us and changes the game".

It's a weird opening because from what I understand it's a bad opening so that suggests it is  a good news [as white] but in practice we have 5 mintues or less to the clock, we don't know the theory and this opening is far from being without danger which makes that paradoxically from the opening the player having white is not well.

b : 1) d4-Nf6 2) c4-d5 3) cxd5-e6 4) dxe6-Bxe6

There are several things that make the opening weird. After 1) d4-Nf6 2) c4 we expect [for example] 2...g6 3. Nc3 then 3...d5 but surprise, player with black plays directly 2)...d5.  It transposes into Marshall Defense and we saw a Youtube video that explains that it is refuted because [...] or read in a book it is bad because [...] so 3) cxd5 we expect 3...Nxd5 4. Nf3 but surpise, player with black plays 3)...e6 and after 4) dxe6-Bxe6 player with black has one pawn less but a good development of pieces making it a pleasant game to play.

c : 1) d4-e5 2) dxe5-d6 3) exd6-Bxd6

It's a weird opening because after 1) d4-e5 2) dxe5 we are sur that player with black going to play 2...Nc6 and even in an opening encyclopedia I find just 2...Nc6 and 2...h6 while he plays us a  unexpected move, 2)...d6 3) exd6 we take by saying to ourselves that this move must not be good otherwise it would be known but after 3)...Bxd6 player with black has one pawn less but a good development of pieces making it a pleasant game to play.
