what are "darkside" openings?

Still smacks of listing to me, whereas a semi-colon removes all uncertainty.  As an Oxford comma proponent, I probably would use one in a list of two Wink

See, the comma is ineffective.  More correct would be 'Embrace the darkside: openings,' or, if you want to get all hoi-polloi about it, 'embrace the darkside - openings.'

While the colon and em dash are arguably superior to the comma here, I much prefer it to your hyphen-minus.

Yeah, I don't like it much either, but it's undeniable that it has become accepted usage for practically everything.  Which is likely a bad thing.
