Take the pawn. Bring the Knight back to f3 after d6, then develop normally. Put pressure on the center with c4, and just make sure you don't play Qd2.
What are some pros and cons of the Steinitz attack in the Russian game?

I play Scotch regulary, so, for me, this is a way to go against te Petrov defense, however I consider myself as a patzer, so could someone more qualify explain this to me.
