What defense to d4 players hate?

its just hard to believe you know a 1300 player beating a 2500 player or whatever shanklands rating is.

Ive seen a 1600 draw against Susan Polgar in a Simul myself

Most annoying of all is the Dutch defence. I have lost games with white against lower rated patzers who just push the pawns on the kingside without any calculations. Then they got lucky.

TetsuoShima

i find the dutch most annoying too..

TetsuoShima

i mean not because my opponents cant play, but because i cant play

I've played this in several rated games. I know the first thing that everyone hears when learning the Queen's Gambit is that it's bad to take the pawn, but people who play it hardly ever see this. I know it is bad, but it is not at all what d4 players want.

I'm not sure if you're talking about the QGA or not since i can't see the diagram but if yes, it isn't bad...it's just a different way of reacting.

i think queens gambit accepted is pretty cool i dont get why its not played more...

Nimzo-Indian Defense

For the Queen's Gambit I would say the Albine. It completely takes a Queens Gambit player out of his element.

Fear_ItseIf

the modern, its the only opening i hate.

This is because of transpositional issues, i dont want to play a KID or Benoni, because I usually play 2.bg5 against nf6. I dont want to use a london or torre, since if they delay the knight coming to f6 i dont get a very comfortable position. So my best best is to go into a 150 attack, which the player likely plays against often (many players use 1..g6 against d4 and e4), so they have the homefield advantage.

I think that happens quite frequent. a player in the club I used to play was also 1300 beating a danish GM in simul. though the 1300 is actually better than his rating gives him credit

sometimes he is rated above 1600 and sometimes rated 1300.

i found the kings indian defense to be really annoying against d4 until i discovered the bayonet attack.

also, the benko gambit is really annoying unless you know the right ideas

Wrong way to play the Cambridge Springs Defense, and the wrong way to play against the inaccuracy.
