In Simon Williams Hippo course on Chessable he says that he thinks the Hippo is the best defence against the London, and that Hippo players should be delighted whenever they see it. But I never checked his lines to see if Stockfish agrees with him.

I never understood why he never wrote more books, because Tiger's Modern is a classic. He could have gone on to be a top author.
