What do you play as Black against the Queen's Gambit?

Or this... Don't be afraid. You can't refute the gambit but you can certainly refute your opponent's understanding of the gambit. I play QGA A LOT more than my opponents face it.

so far, i feel the Albin counter gambit puts me in a best position and finds white unprepared. it is not the most common defence, yet perhaps for that same reason has many potential traps that, if white is not too cautious, could lead to an easy advantage for black. especially if white opts to play pawn to e3 to counter black's advancing pawn.
there s a few, not so long tutorials on youtube that give an idea, like this random one underneath. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Km2bhJSDD8

This is what one does NOT play against the QG. Why is it that in every forum thread about one opening, people put out their favorite opening that has nothing to do with the question at hand???

e.g. Q: What's the best thing to play against the Sicilian?

A: 1.d4 HAW HAW HAW

I think the OP is loosely referring to d4/c4, not specifically d4/d5/c4, and is just not using the term "QG" precisely. So hopefully that has answered your question and you can quit spazzing out about nothing. Because the ultimate goal of people here is to come up with good ideas in the opening, not to answer trivial questions.

QGD Laskar Variation, as it trades a lot of pieces and helps with the space issue; there is only one line where there are challenges, and you usually get c5 with no issues down the c-file

I play QGA. I just accept whites challenge and go from there. QGA, Central Variation.

Recently have been looking at Khalifman's "Best games of Botvinnik". Khalifman has the interesting opinion that Botvinnik's plan in the Queen's Gambit exchange, shown earlier in the thread, isn't white's best try anymore but Nf3, and the subtle h3, before returning to minority attack I think.
