When playing White, the Scotch Game often works for me. Since I am a Scot it is rather appropriate. I find it good for quick control of the centre and developing the minor pieces fast. I give priority to fast development and castling as soon as possible.
But why would you want to castle sooner?

Benko gambit aaaaaand uh… Nakhmanson, I guess is the correct spelling.
So my best opening is the Reti gambit. The Reti gambit may be boring but it keeps players flexible. Even if your opponents don’t play into the gambit you have your choice of other openings based on what your opponents play in response. For example let’s say you go 1)Nf3 and your opponent goes 1)Nc6. You could then play 2)c4 and play an English or go for e4 and attempt an Italian or Spanish game.
