Most people would say, "You couldn't pay me to play the London." I think that's short-sighted; you could pay me to play the London.
What is your favorite opening and why is it the London?

can i pay you to play the Brexit variation of the london...
Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Gambit
Nice one... you can do this against the Scandi and the Caro too i think
i've just played the london and lost..def not doing it again= pretty stupid for a beginner cause it creates the perfect closed equal there nothing to play anymore game

I just looked at your game, you actually got a winning position out of the opening against your opponent...
From White's perspective, nothing more fun than Blowing Black off the Board with the Trompowsky Almighty!
VIENNAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! is the GOAT
Vienna is not the GOAT. Easy equality for Black. By no means refuted. It's not busted. But when Black can get equality by move 5 with no real complications, I'll take Black all day!
1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 and now:
A) 3.Nf3 transposes to the three knights (3...Bb4) or four knights (3...Nc6)
B) 3.f4 d5 4.fxe5 Nxe4
C) 3.Bc4 Nxe4 4.Qh5 Nd6 and now 5.Bb3 Be7! (Instead of the risky 5...Nc6) and 5.Qxe5+ are both simple and equal.
Other openings like the Dragon, Winawer, Trompowsky, Nimzo-Indian, etc are also equal, but FAR more complicated for Black to execute. There are bigger issues for Black to resolve, from pawn structure (Trompowsky) to the Bishop Pair (Nimzo-Indian), to the bad piece (Winawer). Black has none of those issues in the Vienna.

It works just fine, might not work at ur master level, but down here it works
From White's perspective, nothing more fun than Blowing Black off the Board with the Trompowsky Almighty!
except that all beginners would answer with blocking the pawn not with the knight

Another thing that beginners, LIKE YOU, don't get is that there is no one size fits all. There is no such thing as an opening sequence of moves that works against everything.
Clearly, the Trompowsky requires Black to play 1...Nf6. The Trompowsky, by definition, is 1.d4 Nf6 2.Bg5, so of course if Black plays 1...d5, it isn't a Trompowsky. Only a fool thinks you can play the same moves against everything.
The London leads to a horrible position against the Modern.
Tony Kosten's old idea from a book on the English from the 90s, where White closes his eyes, and plays 1.c4, 2.g3, 3.Bg2, and 4.Nc3, and then opens his eyes, White has a rotten position after 1.c4 e5 2.g3 Nc6 3.Bg2? (...Nc6 should always be answered by Nc3) f5! 4.Nc3 Nf6 and Black is slightly better already. Instead, 1.c4 e5 2.g3 Nc6 3.Nc3! f5 4.Nf3! Nf6 5.d4 e4 6.Nh4!, looking to entice ...g5. Otherwise, it is actively attacking f5. If ...g5, then Ng2!! (NOT POSSIBLE with a Bishop there) followed by h4, looking to entice ...g4 or ...gxh4, giving White a BEAUTIFUL outpost on f4. The Bishop gets developed classically on d3 or e2.
Go big! Go Petroff!
