tricks are for kids, not for the KID but you might like the Tarrasch Defense where Black gets an IQP in return for active pieces
What Opening to Play Against 1.d4

There is nothing that fits your mold.
You want a long term plan, but you do not want solidity. Make up your mind! You either go all in (Benoni, Grunfeld, KID, etc) and there is no "long term" as it is do or die, or you go for the long term plan, try to hold off any attacks via solidity and try to get the better endgame (Slav, Nimzo-Indian, etc).

+1 except the Czech can be more positional than you might think Definitely doesn't rely on activity and isn't easy to play though.
Grünfeld is a long term plan: win the endgame with the queen side pawn majority i.e. the candidate passed pawn b6. There is however much theory about it. White gets the center and an attack on your king, but if you can defend, then you win the endgame.

Or go c6 and if c4 then a6 and h6 and you try to delay d7-d5 for as long as possible which is what I do nowadays or even c6 and if e4 then e6 and you transpose into a Slav Defence : Modern , Triangle System and from there into a Semi-Slav Defence

indeed. The most solid reply is 1. ... d5 and a must learn for everyone black or white. Regardless of level. Personally, it's Fundamental. Yeah, it's boring, tedious but you can find alot of gems as a beginner. And until you grow your skillsets, gain experience nothing else will build your foundation in my opinion. ✌🏽

When I said the Benoni, I was referring to the Modern Benoni, not the lame garbage like the Czech or Snake.

1.d5! has to be the worst reply in the world to 1.d4! as after Bf4 by white you're in an Accelerated London or after Nf3 Nf6 Bf4 you're in a London System !

Ok, and?
You are in a London. Whoop-dee-fu**ing-doo-dah! White has nothing more than an equal game. A strong line is 2.Bf4 e6 3.e3 Bd6 4.Nf3 (4.Bxd6 is nothing for White) Nf6 5.Be2 (or 5.Bd3) O-O with the idea of 6...b6 and 7...Bb7, delaying ...c5 until Black is ready, is a very strong defense to the London for 1...d5 players.
1.d4 d5 2.Bf4? BIG WHOOP!

Why allow a London when you can simply make any London transpositions unavailable because if you play into a London then you're playing into you're opponents or their preparation ?

+1 pfren I agree though some people just hate playing without prep, don't know what to do for them...

Because the London isn't particularly challenging to play against? I always enjoy defending against the London
QGD Tarrasch. Easy plans, active piece play, good stake at the center, all that at the cost of an IQP.
Notice also the bonus of the Von Hennig - Schara gambit (1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 c5 4.cxd5 cxd4!?) which has been fully revived to a perfectly respectable way to play as Black.
Another bonus- you can use it against 1.c4 and 1.Nf3 as well.
Agree.
I want to play an easy to learn and active opening against d4. Note: I played the KID but it’s not my type. I really love openings that rely on long term plan and activity rather than solidity or tricks. Is there an opening like that for black against 1.d4?
