None...Its up to me to play the best moves i can regardless of the opponent.
What openings/defenses etc. strike fear into you?

Not fear, but I don't like all openings. The open games allow for too many exchanges, and the closed games just don't have enough action.

Leave chess.

Anyone who plays a heavily theoretical line quickly and confidently. If someone is offering a Najdorf poisoned pawn or the Mashall attack, they probably know the lines much better than I do. If they play all the opening moves instantly, then that's reason enough for me to direct the game into a sideline instead.
On a related note, I often sigh when my opponent plays the Petroff as Black or the London System as White. I'm not scared of these openings, but I feel they are rather stale. The London in particular is quite popular, and it feels like every game is the same when playing against it.

I have a horrible record vs the Marshall attack and The Najdorf sicilian, i always get outmaneuvered and outplayed in such positions. Its probably due to my lack of ability in calculation and overall carelessness in hanging pieces etc. I would much prefer quieter games (eg Caro kann)

I dont really like to play against the Caro Kann, I'm not scared of it, but I don't really like the positions that arise from there. And as black, I dont really care what white plays, because I get to choose the defense.

I hate 1.d4 as black. Seriously, It leads to either slow plodding games or me losing in ten moves. I've been trying the KID lately though, with some success. I also have an irrational hatred for the sicilian like Heichoux (maybe because I lost my first game on chess.com as black). The king's gamit scares me, since I'm terrible at tactics. However against players (IRL OTB) who love trappy openings I'd play 1.d4 or 1...c5 since it stops at least their most common ideas.

I think it was about a year ago I realized a lot of people were playing the Queen's gambit against me and I really was not getting good results. i didn't know what the lines were or what I was playing for. I had to go back and do some reading. It's still probably one of my weakest openings.

This has got to be the dumbest thing I've heard in over an hour on this site!
"I really don't care what White plays, because I get to choose the defense" - Uhm, your point?
Sure, Black defense, White attacks! So I get to choose my line of attack! What's your point? That your move is the move that gives the "opening" box on your score sheet the title "French Defense"? If that's your idea of choosing the defense, you're a clown!
Let's say I'm White and I play 1.d4. You say you get to choose the Opening. You don't! You may "intend" to play the King's Indian, but after 1...Nf6, White could play 2.Bg5 (Trompowsky Attack), or 2.Nf3, at which point the opening is undetermined. For example, after your 2...g6, 3.Bg5 is no longer a King's Indian Defense, it's a Torre Attack!
Neither White or Black "choose the opening". The opening just happens based on the line of play by BOTH players! Neither White nor Black "chooses" the opening!
And to you are are "afraid" of any opening is idiotic! There may be openings you avoid because you don't care to play them. For example, I avoid the Dragon from either side. As White, whenever I do choose to play 1.e4, after 1...c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6, I play 5.f3 (The Prins Variation), which avoids the Dragon. As Black, whenever I choose to play 1...c5, I simply avoid the Dragon and play either the Najdorf, Taimanov, or Scheveningen.
The whole thread is stupid!
What openings scare you the most, which ones do you not want to play against?
