Nobody Colles anymore, now we have the Zoom system.

---

Joking aside, the Colle system is a specific setup for launching kingside attacks using all of white's pieces. It relies on the signature LSB and often depends on opening a file for an early rook lift.

It's a traditional system from before the time chess got very positional - so in modern-day play there are too many holes and it becomes easy to puncture. Up to level 1500 it's playable because opponents fail the configurational intelligence to bust it before, say, move 15.

Coal eh would be more accurate--he was from Belgium

Since he's Flemish it would be a short vowel 'o' as in the British 'dog': [coll-uh]

Colle is boring

For black yeah! Just look at the main-line or Colle-Zukertort:

Black has a very hard time finding counterplay against whites attack since the center is so blocked.

Colle system is ok. Milojie Ratkovic made a video on it recently on thechessworld com

1.Nf6 i mean

Well then you avoid the colle completely. Colle is simply bad against 1... Nf6.
