What's wrong with 1.b4?

Chess is also useful in preventing the disease...I'm not sure about slowing it down though.

Recent research (such as Chakroborty, et al 2012) shows that the issues of synaptic loss and a reduction in neuroplasticity are likely due to the use of ryanodine receptors(which deal mostly with ER calcium) as an alternative channel for calcium ions in the synapses of the hippocampus, which are upregulated during pre-symptomatic stages of Alzheimer's. This causes too much calcium to be channeled, and while it prevents early manifestations of symptoms, it does cause synaptic loss due to vesicle depletion. This takes a while, as neurotransmitter vesicles can be made at quite a high rate, but the depletion rate is still higher. This results in amyloid plaque buildup and defective tau proteins which have long been correlated with Alzheimer's.

Now that we know more about the cause of Alzheimer's physiologically, research can work on making drugs to cure Alzheimer's rather than just treat the symptoms.

Conclusively, the only thing that is wrong with 1.b4 is that there are people which seriously believe that white might get some advantage with it.

"Conclusively" ?...what happened to the signature "factly"'?  Cry

pfren has come to this conclusion himself rather than being granted divine knowledge this time.

Nobody wanted to further derail the interesting analysis we had going on on the b4 opening by talking about mental disorders?

Oh wait, I guess that was the main topic since page two...

netzach

Most of the topic has been forgotton already! (conclusive of something if only could remember what...?)

I think that sums up the thread pretty well.

whatever I say, it will be distorted. So I better get out of here.

Just for the last time: I never said that white might get an advantage.

I said to the contrary, black has a chance to get an edge in some variants. I was at the same time fighting against the superficial inputs claiming that the life of black is easy.

It is sad that this thread is now dominated by trolls who try to kill discussion, are unable to analyse variants, or even to read what others write.

Nevermind, I think i got the point. Change of attitude.

From now on, I will offer advice only for money. I really liked offering advice and sharing my experience for free, but apparently my tactics were wrong. From now on, I switch to something more profitable, and less nerve-wracking.

So- no more analysing and advices for free. No money, no honey, simple as that. Regards.

PS: Is there any good reason the average chessplayer being so stupid/ ignorant? I guess it is, but I wouldn't bother finding out.

Pfren: That would be a pity. I highly admire your contributions and ignore the content of TetsuoShima. I don't know who he is and what he is doing in life, but his posts are rather pointless. He is like a gambler who has to decide what to say next and just takes his chance. I never take him serious.

schlechter55

well, you did your best to wreck my nerves. Your nerves are wrecked because you just cannot admit that you hurt other people.

About ignorance: I reminded you  that YOU CONFIRMED what I said in threads 6, 10, 92, in your thread 183.

Turning things around shows that you are not a partner for discussion, even not for IM's.

I imagine how many people you must have upset in OTB chess...

I think some of you owe him an apology. Sorry, but I do understand IM Pfren's reaction. He's trying to help you after all. If you play lousy, learn from it. That's life! If you can't deal with someone being better than you, you'd better quit right now.

I'll qoute Sandor Marai once more: We have to accept betrayal and disloyalty, and, hardest of all, that someone is finer than we are in character or intelligence.

kco

I agreed with you pfren, no money no advice. You are right, there are noobs on this website.

schlechter55

Claqueurs. What I said about 1.b4 was confirmed by Pfren. The reward ?

I am attacked by him again.

The apology is not mine.

red-lady

I'll tell you something... I'm a teacher myself. Not chess as you can see Tongue Out, but music.

I didn't get my degree for free. I don't teach for free. I would, if someone is worth it... You guys get advice from IM Pfren for free and what do you do? You spit him in his face? Not nice is it?

kco

Well put red-lady.

Not mine, either. A clear tie.

Enjoy your ignorance, my friend.

under fire from you and Pfren. The others I beg to read my posts, they prove that all are lies about me, and the two should apologize. I have no apology for anyone.

Do you mean me and Pfren??? I don't know Pfren... We never met. The only thing I know for sure is that it is not fair and you owe him an apology.

pfren

Nobody owes me anything, including ignorant woodpushers.
