There is no best opening move. All first moves but 1.g4 should by best play lead to a draw. 1.g4 should by best play lose.

At your level I would suggest that you play 1.e4 and just try to have fun and improve your chess - and not on learning openings! Focus on opening principles, tactics and basic endgames. When you have become much better, your can choose an opening to learn.

as white, e4. as, black, premove d4. whatever white plays, d4 is always a solid option.

According to the engines it does in the end. But it can of course be played against humans if you like it. And this is no new engine discovery, Bent Larsen already stated that 1.g4 was the only bad first move. If you like to experiment and want to surprise you opponent then 1.f3 is actually a better move than 1.g4 - and much less analyzed.

This is no more than an urban legend. Engines are way too weak to correctly assess the outcome of an opening move.
