which is better

Here's a good question what is better the tango(mexican defense) or gruenfeld defense and please don't just say gruenfeld unless you know what the mexican defense is if you want make a hurt heal forum out of it. Thanks.

I'd go for the Grunfeld, it seems more aggressive than the mexican defense, and I prefer opening up lines for my Bishop to bringing the Knights out immediately.

I would say the gruenfeld is more respected as an opening, used regularly at the highest levels of chess.  But if you want to avoid opening theroy or throw your opponent off, go with the tango.

To be honest though, I believe you should choose openings you can understand, I.E. d5, rather then choosing openings neither player understands.
