I did learn it from him, but does he play the Blackburne-Kloosterboer gambit?
The Englund Gambit and Blackburne-Kloosterboer Gambit are not good openings.

If you hate yourself so much, play Old Benoni instead of Englund. At least Old Benoni signals that you are playing for a win but you accept an inferior position. Englund is just losing.
The England is a fun opening but you with perfect play you will lose.. so I say if you are above 1500 don’t play it
It's not really fun. If they don't fall for the trap then you just end up with an ugly position. Gothamchess is generally not very good with opening recommendations.

Well I guess I’ll have to learn some new openings, or just do e5 and d5, I was trying to not only play e5 against e4 and d5 against d4.
There are far better alternatives to e4 e5/d4 d5 than the Blackburne-Kloosterboer Gambit and Englund Gambit.
Yeah I know, I tried using lichess to learn the Sicilian, but it just listed moves it didn’t give reasons for the moves.
so you can go to "the one who's given bad openings" GothamChess and learn his other openings.. play e6 against e4 and d4...
you can really play anything but choose the French or the siclinen.. if you dont know how to play them. YouTube it.. that's how I got from 1500 to 1700

Ah yeah, that is just because it's the analysis board. The analysis board is not meant to explain the reasons for the moves. It just lists the moves in order of commonality. You would have to figure out what the moves mean or look up videos on it.
I would suggest expanding your mind and knowledge of chess outside of what Gothamchess preaches as he is only telling people to play in his style and preference.
For example, he tells people not to play the Sicilian. This is because he doesn't like or respect the Sicilian as the fundamental part of chess that it is. He doesn't understand or play the Sicilian himself so he doesn't want other people to play it either.

you could say that.. he does state that cause it's very hard to learn and not easy.. for the more advanced players is their opening. so you all should play the French

It's just not true though. There are a lot of different Sicilians and some are harder or easier than others. I play the Najdorf because I like it and didn't have problems with it.
He always gets super preachy saying "never play the Sicilian because it's bad for you" somehow but he exaggerates massively about the theory. He is an IM but still doesn't play the Sicilian and does anything he can to avoid mainlines. If he is good enough then he should probably be playing the Sicilian by now then but he avoids it because he doesn't like it.
Other chess coaches have a totally different perspective and say the Sicilian is fine to play at any level.
caro-kann is sad.. dont play it.. the French and Sicilian play for a win..
Unfathomably based.
I've seen some of his videos where players ask him for advice about how to get better and he immediately says "Stop playing the Sicilian. Play the Caro Kann instead. Sicilian is garbage. Caro Kann is way better". That's such stupid advice as a chess coach. It's not respecting the player's choice and it's not respecting the game.
I've seen some of his followers just parrot his view without questioning and just believe the Sicilian is the hardest opening ever and you'll instantly lose if you play it.
For black it depends on what white plays. For white, I’d argue the Queen’s Gambit, as if allows White to immediately challenge Black's central pawn on d5 with its pawn on c4. By controlling the center, White can establish a strong presence in the middle of the board, which can lead to better control of the game and greater flexibility in terms of piece mobility and pawn breaks. That of course, arises if the gambit is accepted. The Queen’s Gambit Declined and the Slav Defense are still insanely strategically rich and fun to play. It’s also an amazing opening for beginners and experienced players.

Maybe.. i do have a 2500 GM coach whos way better then him and he does say that the caro is bad and the french and others are best

Regardless of what we think of the Caro Kann, it's immature and bad advice to tell someone that giving up the Sicilian Defence for the Caro Kann is a way to improve, just because the Caro Kann is his favourite opening.
Levy is immature generally.
Just because he doesn't like the Sicilian Defence, he refuses to help people out or give players advice on how to play it better. He just tells people to stop playing it. I remember that this is all because he said that he lost a lot of games in the Sicilian Defence and this is why he doesn't like it. That's not any of our problem. That's his personal issue.
It's not professional advice.
