Kings Indian is not a good one..Black invites white a wholesale of central pawns..
Which is the best defence against 1.d4?
Well, that's the plan isnt it! KID deserves more respect than what it gets now.
It's a matter of preference mostly. I try to rotate in and out of all openings, but Nimzo remains a favourite for me.

The Nimzo-Indian Defence is my favourite. But I hate it when White avoids it by playing 3. Nf3. Then I usually transpose into the the QGD.

I'm not sure of the QGD Lasker due to White's Rc1. White is too comfortable, although you can say Black is solid enough. Maybe check out the QGD orthodox with a6, intending b5 and a quick c5 which are positions similar to lines in the semi-slav.

Bwahaha!

So, what's the problem with these Rc1 lines? None I guess...
As a matter of fact, even mr. 0-12 (Nakamura) drew comfortably against Magnus in that line, and it was the easiest draw he has managed against that opponent- he was not pressed at any point of the game.

Try the mainlines of QGD. An opening which is a must play at some point for development as a chess player. The Lasker or Tartakower lines are what I like. This is how stronger players have advised me. Of course, who am I to advise a CM?

I am playing slav and always after the opening i get bad positions. Is there anything else good against 1.d4? I am thinking about Nimzo-Indian or Stonewall with black. What do you think???
The "best" defense, is the one that works for you.

Karjakin has withdrew from Norway Chess 2016. Where th World Championship match will be held?
In New York

Ok. About the original posting, I am rooting for the Dutch defense (just won a turn-based game with it).

It's a bit strange a CM thinks there exists a best against 1.d4. The slav is as solid as anything can play. Can find good enough lines looking in databases, or with specific resources like Avrukh's GM rep book. Not really necessary to always get bad positions with slav.

By saying that you get bad positions do you mean that you don't enjoy playing them or that that they are objectively bad ?
I play Orthodox variation, Lasker is good but not for me
