Which responce do you prefer in a Queen's Gambit game? 2.c6 or 2.e6?

Which responce do you prefer? I know they can easily transpose into similar lines, but they both have unique advantages and disadvantages early in the game.

I play the Slav.

What are considered the advantages of both openings?

I prefer the slav to the QGD.

Oh, the slav allows the light squared bishop to develop freely, but deprives the queen's knight of it's best square. The QGD locks in the bishop, but allows the knight to develop. It's a heck of a lot more complicated than that of course...I suggest you look at some articles concerning both openings and try them out in games.

I am strictly a slav player, but generally I reach this via 1.d4 Nf6 2.Nf3 d5 3.c4 c6.

2...c6 leads to slav

2...e6 you have many possibilities eg. Tartakower, Tarrasch...

You choice, both of them are ok

I play both, leading to a Semi-Slav!
