Bird is allright even in games with plenty of time.

You can play it just because you love birds, too

I prefer the birds opening in many cases to not proved much better in terms of getting the oppurtinity to win

Bird opening commits your f pawn early and as long as you don't get mated the f4 pawn will be very beneficial in the long term.

It's like saying: "Don't put your knight in front of your c pawn", same with f pawn.

What is the point of it?

It only opens up the king and blocks the dark squared bishop

So why do some people, and even some masters play it?

The same argument could be made with the English, just without the king safety part.

Even then, there do exist real openings that utilize the f-pawn before castling, such as the :

  • King's Indian Defense: Four Pawns Attack
  • Najdorf Sicilian: Grand Prix Attack
  • King's Gambit
  • Dutch Defense
  • Caro-Kann: Fantasy Variation

And there are hundreds of setups that use the f-pawn. In my opinion, you shouldn't be moving the f-pawn if they've already moved their e-pawn.

Since i am winning against it why should I use it

I win against the French often, but that does not mean it's a bad opening.

In your case, it's simply because the bird players you faced used it as a surprise weapon instead of actually studying how to attack/counterattack/defend in the Bird.
