Why is d6 is preferred to Nc6 after 1.e4 e5 2. Qh5?

It doesn’t seem like it prefers d6. The lines the chess.com analysis is giving me are Nc6 and Qe7

chess.com game review is very short sighted, this is well known, it isnt deep enough its only meant for a quick glance at roughly how well you did and a rudimentary blunder check

How come d6 is better according to chess.com analysis? Nc6 develops a piece, I don't see what d6 does (besides protecting the pawn)
