Why players say that traxler countergambit is no good?

It means that I m more aggressive than Tal?

robertjames_perez

My reason is that:  Anand lost the game when he played Bxf7+

robertjames_perez

I am Aggressive. So what? Do not be very superstitious because aggressiveness means taking risks and giving opponent problems.

robertjames_perez

No way I can't believe in you.I studied almost all the lines in the Traxler and I saw that white has real problems in many variations.

robertjames_perez

I have won against the Bxf7 line

BronsteinPawn

The Traxler seems kind of playable specially on OTB. So probably robertjamesperez can still get away with it.

BronsteinPawn

Reckless toddler. He is 11 or 10...

You did notplay an aggressive opening that gives black  real problems.

And who said that computer confusion happens not in the Trax? Never! Because not all moves and evaluations  of the computer are accurate. They sometimes make strategical inaccuracies.Try in the Trax to be strategical if you are black.

robertjames_perez

If white defends strategically,it would be evaluated +/=or even =.

robertjames_perez

But it still leads to a draw, and in d4!?,you would reach an unclear position even if you think that white is actually better.'Why unclear',someone will question me like that. That's because white can hardly find a counterplay easily(Do not quote me,because you will think I am crazy.) and it leads to complex and complicated positions.

It's probably good for White if they've studied it properly. But over the board players never have – or if they have, they'll almost certainly have forgotten what they studied because they never face 4...Bc5. I've been playing the Traxler for nearly thirty years and have a huge (80%) score as Black.

The Ulvestad (4...d5 5 exd5 b5) is worth playing as well, and the Fritz (4...d5 5 exd5 Nd4). White never knows what to do in these lines because the only thing they ever face is 4...d5 5 exd5 Na5.

Now I see why correspondence chess got boring after the computers lol

PowerOfMonado

Was expecting to create a better stalemate puzzle from one of the tactics puzzles at this site, but I just made a piece of trash sad.pngsad.pngsad.png

BronsteinPawn

Wow. While toying around I found still another trash, but a tricky one!
What is white's winning concept in the following position?

Gee.. either you are stupid, or reluctant to read the previous posts.

White's reply to 9...h6 is 10.Nf3!, when 10...Bg4 is best answered by 11.Nbd2.

Please take alook at the analysis, (http://www.skdps.com/download/1260365765_Traxler%20Attack.PDF)  before posting crap lines again...

As Black, I do have an 100% score (11/11) with the Ulvestad (5...b5?!), but while it is objectively better than the Traxler, it's no shame to admit iit is UNSOUND!

The only sound answer to 4.Ng5 is 4...d5 5.exd5 Na5!, and the second best is 5...Nxd5, which does open a huge can of worms after either 6.Nxf7 or 6.d4(!), but there is no direct refutation to either of them.

Interesting. Do you think 5: ...Nxd5 is sound then? I've never heard someone say that before, but I've never seen a refutation, you're correct. Only the idea that any position where 7: ...Ke6 is the best move is probably not a good position.
