Based on computer analysis the Grob opening is the worst opening for white. 1.g4?

I agree. The worst possible move to play is pawn to f3. GothamChess even said that move is the worst possible move. I'm speaking of the worst possible for white's first move.

Why do you need GothamChess to tell you whether the worst first move is f3?

Gothamchess is only a weak IM player. The 4000 Elo rated computer shows 1.f3 is bad, but playable.

And shows 1.g4 being much worse.

Here are all 20 possible opening moves ranked from best to worst by the chess computer Stockfish.

Lol literally, it's funny how a lot of amateurs idolise him as god of chess and don't know anything outside of chess apart from what they're told by him.

"Levy told me this! Levy told me to play this! Oh boyyo! 🤓"

Cmon guys, have a bit more chess culture. A lot of what Levy says about chess is total bs.

Agreed.
His three main recommendations are:

Vienna, which is good, but once you reach the Mainline, Black has essentially achieved equality and can go on to have a rather good game.

London, which is good, but he doesn't explain it well, he never shows the Mainline, and he assumes that Black won't know how to play against it.

Caro-Kann, which is good, but he recommends the Botvinnik-Carls against the Advance, which isn't good unless White plays 4. Nf3 and 5. c3 to justify it.

Owen's (e6 b6), which is bad, and much like the London he only explains how to play it against players who have no clue what to do against it.

The ONLY thing watching GothamChess is good for is learning common mistakes and very very simplified game sense from watching his Guess The ELO series, where he essentially does a fantastic job of analyzing a game in five minutes or less and explains good moves, bad moves, better lines, middlegame plans that could have happened, tactics that were missed, and checkmates that didn't get played on the board. I'd actually highly recommend that series to every single player below 1200.

I pretty much agree. Gotham is an entertaining chess streamer and I like Guess the ELO, but sometimes he gives terrible recommendations imo and he isn't as instructive as what many people think of him to be.
