Seriously though, who is stupid enough to do the Bong cloud attack? Especially since the person who "invented" it had the lowest chess rating ever. It doesn't accomplish anything...
In my opinion, he probably just did it just so he can have an opening named after him.
I plan on bringing Ke2 to chessboards everywhere!!!! Nobody is safe from it's wrath! I welcome all challengers with open seeks.
also a side note, the Bongcloud is a kingspawn opening, so I think this line 1(...d5)is actually Bongwater Blunder line
Very true! The original Bongcloud Attack is a double kingpawn opening but many players try to introduce the Bongcloud Approach to many Openings.
Ok... im gonna try some boungcloud attacks in my blitz games tonight: i will report back to base with any interesting findings. Btw, thx for posting blunder-trap farbror.
A well known expert claims in private correspondence (and this is absolutely true!) that he used to play blitz along the lines of the Bongcloud theory:
- Attack with His Majesty
- Retreat
- Try to survive

It's a great opening. The king controls the center.
I think Lenny has introduced a variant of chess. See who can get their King to the other side first! And by the way, if you checkmate the other guy it is a draw.

killabeez, you cannot checkmate with a king - by moving only the king after the first pawn move.
jaguarphd, obviously, you haven't read the other bongcloud (boungcloud) posts on various other forums. THERE IS NOTHING SERIOUS about this, it is all a spoof in the interests of entertainment for bored souls.
I never said after the second move! It would be rather pointless to just move the King around wouldn't it? You would have to try to use your pieces to aid your king to the other side. It is a fun variant.
