actually titled??

I am playing a player that states they are a IM. I have looked at some of their games and I see losses to players under 1700 and looking at some of the games, I am starting to doubt that they are indeed a IM.

Can someone put IM on their own profile or does chess.com do that?

Their accuracy is not as high as I would expect from a IM and losing multiple games to under 1800 seems suspicious to me.

Thoughts?

If they’re a titled player, it’ll tell you on their profile. If they don’t have a red banner and a special red “IM” next to their name, they are not an International Master.

I think the lowest title is Candidate Master, and you must go to real-life FIDE tournaments to get them. You get it when you reach a rating of 2200.
