Can you help me understand this move ?

18 ... Rc4 !

It is commented to be a good move (!) but I don't understand it and Fritz considers it slightly degrades the blacks score from -0.41 to -0.06.

Thanks.

This is the position you are interested in. It may be easier to get comments when you use the game editor to post a game instead of making everybody follow the game in their heads. Not all of us can play blindfold chess.

Sorry I don't know what the game editor is ... will have a look.
Instead I made the assumption that all "strong players" are using a software (Fritz or the free SCID or another one), and use it to open a PGN.

18: ... Rc4 !  [after white played 18. Bf3]

Yes, this is the move I don't fully understand. :-)

The "game editor" is the little chessboard icon on the top left of the text box (the box you type your comments in).

It's pretty easy to use. It provides instructions as you go along. You can post whole games, set up puzzles, show particular positions.

Hi, I think it's a very human move. It gains space and it prepares to double on the c file
