I couldn't find an image of Pogo wielding a big stick.
One thing we've learned from this is that candidates who get removed don't take it well. She hadn't even known she was on the list, and still called the imposed penalty "evil".

Indeed, she is already campaigning for next month, creating herself as a martyr right under our noses! In May hundreds of people from her group will show up. It must have taken a lot of time to think up such a devious plan.

Also, I do not deserve to be put on the list. Vladimir Potkin won the European Chess Championship in April. Polgar and Wojtasjek shared first. Kamsky won the US Championship. Kournosov scored a 2900+ performance at the Russian Club Cup.
Meanwhile, all I did in April was get a team bronze and individual silver at the Russian Club Cup, which is by no means comparable to the achievements mentioned above.
However, it seems that some people are serious about this and want to be named player of the month ahead of Potkin, Polgar and Kamsky. Why so modest? Why not call this contest Mr and Ms of the Universe right away?
P.S. If the contest is more about contributing to Chess.com than playing chess, then it makes sense to disregard staff/columnists as they have a higher exposure than others, and should be motivated by different means.
Me thinks she cannot comprehend the spirit in which we frivolously idle ourselves in the trivial banality of this cpotm thread. Alas, she is cherished in spite of her shortcoming. : )

I totally agree with Natalia this whole contest is a joke! It should be renamed Chess.com forums Person of the Month. We should have a seperate Chess Player of the Month reserved for real, serious chess players not who posted the most idiotic posts.

It is not called "Best chess player of the month" or even "Most pretentious or pompous chess player of the month". It is just "chess player" which includes everyone involved. If you whiners bothered to read the OP you'd see that listed legitimate examples of nomination criteria include friendliness, humor, helpfulness, etc.

I like CPOTM. I like the intentions behind it. I appreciate that this 'contest' was made in fun, for fun, and posts submitted earlier shows that we were doing just that - HAVING FUN. Then along come these 'wet blankets' wanting to make a mountain out of a mole-hill, act their part in 'Days of Our Lives' and change the name of a topic they never put the effort into creating. It's silly. CPOTM is fun. Don't know what fun is? Look it up..
