You'll get lots of different definitions. Far too many people in the chess.com forums label anything that irritates them as spam. I don't consider something to be spam unless it has been posted (or emailed) to multiple destinations. That fits better with the use of the word as a verb-- to "spam" something usually means to shotgun it out to a bunch of different recipients. Once in a while we'll get someone here who in the course of a few minutes will start multiple new threads in different forum categories, all with the same exact message. That's spam.
