Conservative GM chess player ?

I'm trying to find a GM chess player's openings to emulate. Someone told me that my way of playing (or "style") is conservative but I make aggressive good moves when they are there. I don't know if that's the same thing as solid; I think it might be.

So are there any conservative GM chess players that you would recommend? Thank you.

capablanca is the capahouse way to go.

According to the data posted on the thread "best chess player ever", Karpov drew 49% of his games, very high. Kasparov and Capa are around 40%, but Kasparov&Capa lost the smallest percentage of the games, both around 8%. However, Capa and Kasparov just don't give me the impression of a conservative player, so Karpov.

If we are discussing modern GM's, Peter Leko is probably the most boring Gm you can find, and seems like a good choice for you to emulate.

IF we're going modern, then I suppose Gashimov because he drew all but one of his games @ Nanjing

Ulf Andersson is among the most conservative players. Karpov while very positional I would not cast as conservative during the 70's
