I see a GM on a regular basis. Nice guy, but it is not really such an awe-inspiring event to meet a GM.
Ever met a GM?

I am fortunate to be in a local chess club (Dayton,Ohio) that hosts tournaments that attract the occasional wandering GM; I've been fortunate to meet a few-
The late GM Alek Wojtkiewicz was the first GM I ever saw, and I got to play in a Simul he had at the 42nd Gem City Open, back in 2000. He beat us all like yard dogs! I still have some pictures, it was a memorable experience. An honor to have played a former Poland national champion!
GM Alexander Goldin has visited our club a few times; during one visit he offered lessons, and I took the opportunity for one session. The understanding he has of chess was awesome, very profound! If you ever get the chance to have a session with a GM, take it. I think I got more out of that 1 hour then in months of studying!
Other notable players I have seen at our club include GM Sergey Kudrin, GM Anatoly Lein, WGM Anna Zatonskih, IM Emory Tate, IM Calvin Blocker, IM John Donaldson, and IM Enrico Sevillano.
At the Cardinal Open in Columbus I played in an informal simul against GM Ben Finegold, whose articles in Chess Life are fun to read!
I played in a World Open in 2009, and GM Joel Benjamin (who was US Champion when I first joined the USCF in 1998) spoke to me! He was on the elevator, and I asked if it was going up or down and GM Benjamin said "Up." That added about 25 points to my rating! :D
At that same World Open, (the only national I have ever played in...everyone should play in a giant tournament once in their life!), GM Sam Palatnik was giving free analysis of games, so I took advantage of that opportunity too. He was a very nice person, and that is another treasured chess memory. I saw lots of GMs playing there! I wanted to take pictures, but was afraid to. I saw GM Gata Kamsky there, he reminded me of a tiger! And I saw GM Hikaru Nakamura in the lobby of the Sheraton, absorbed in his laptop with his father nearby and I was reminded of the cover of the first Chess Life I ever received, May 1998, which featured a smiling 10 year old Hikaru and his proud father Sunil Weeramantry.
I can't imagine anyone not being impressed by meeting a titled player...these are special people!

I "met" (I don't think we exchanged more than ten words) a year ago and played Aronian (in a team simultaneous event, so that was a bit complicated - details here : http://www.chess.com/forum/view/game-analysis/how-levon-aronian-crushed-my-team).
I was just crushed.
The worst part was that he did not spend more than 10 min of thinking time.

I used to see Karpov and Kasparov, in Seville in 1987. I watched 90% of the games they played. They used different gates to enter the theatre, so my dad and me changed gates everyday so that we could see both of them. I enjoyed watching Kasparov better, it was like seeing a bull entering a bullring.
This said, I like both of them. I was only 10 at the time, and is a memory I treasure since my father passed away a few years ago.
In those times, seeing the double K on live is only comparable to seeing Houdini and rybka in the flesh nowadays (which is impossible, of course). When they analysed their games, I marvelled at the speed they moved the pieces, I have never seen anything like that ever since.

I have gotten games analysed by GM Ralf Åkesson which is a part of my local chess club.
Once I was supposed to send a game from a tournament to my chess coach and then he would send it to Ralf and we would go through my game (among others) one day. So I sent a game and he got impressed of my win in the endgame. Later when I read the Swedish magazine "Tidskrift för schack" I saw that the Endgame I played was there commented by Ralf. My chess coach sent the endgame to GM Carsten Müller and then my endgame appeared on chess café (link). Later the game appeared in tactics trainer (link) and it's rating is currently 2851, so I guess I should be proud of having accurately calculated the whole line during the game.

On of my friends uncle is GM Peter heine Nielsen. Nielsen is carlsen trailer and he was Anands second.
I have played a simul with nielsen

I met Ben finegold , John Fedorwitz, Alexander Onischuk, Maurice Ashley , Gregory Kaidanov, and Alexandra Kostenuk

I can give visual confirmation of the existence of at least 14 grandmasters. The other 1388 are still in hiding somewhere on this earth, but I will find them. Let's make a game out of it. "Spot the GM"/"collect the GMs"

Yeah !
Let's choose a color for each participant, and make some superglue sticky notes of those colors. When you see a GM, jump on him and stick one on his forehead !
You score one point for every top tournament where all the GMs have a stick of your color on them.

Lol now you have me thinking about GM trading cards! Tournament histories and favorite openings on the reverse, and what the heck, lets put some bubble gum back in the packs! Profits from the sale of these collectible cards could be used to make a Chess commercial for television, or to buy a Chess.com NASCAR to enter races with! *slams lid on boiling pot of fanciful notions* *cough* sorry...

Perfect

I've played GMs Gelfand and Ivanchuk in simuls, GM Murey and Guliev OTB. I had dinner with Adams and Shirov long time ago (not on the same evening).
Also I'm working on my chess with GM N.Davies, who is a witty and nice man
I met an FM, who is a GM today. Does that count?
