Hi, BowTied! I should inform you that Chess.com has a policy of following your first "greetings" post, with any information you have regarding UFOs in your area.

                              Thank you

hi bowtied.  if you can figure out the magic way that trysts finds the "hello i'm new posts" to be the first one to respond with sharks, ufos, or yaks with lasers i will give you a cookie.

my theory is that there are hundreds of minions around the world that comb the forums and call trysts on the red phone so she can log on and snark...errr...comment.  of course, she could have preapproved messages spread to her minions to allow them to post something for her, that could explain the sharks in land-locked mongolia debacle. :)

I didn't say there were sharks in Mongolia. I asked someone from Mongolia if there were sharks there. Chess variants, planeden, claim sharks in Mongolia, while neglecting yaks. Attaching lasers to yaks is obviously a much better way to play chess. But, the shark crowd would have you think otherwise.

planeden

i didn't say you said...blah blah.

yeah, i am not too versed in chess variants, so i don't know what the sharks have to do with them.  unless you were talking about chess sharks who make a living betting on chess.  but at any rate, i am putting too much thought into this for a saturday and will just feel better knowing that one of your minions, who must have been suitably punished - perhaps even sent to lisav, asked that question.

hi again bowtied.  hope you weren't expecting grand discussion in your hello thread.  "i will post hello then maybe people will give me pointers on chess and the site....wtf is this?"

Sounds to me that you are prejudiced against sharks, like you're better than sharks. Maybe you're stealing the "talibilly chess variant, w/ sharks and lasers"? I don't know. But you are suspicious...

i always let wookies and sharks win.

Wookies? Isn't that anti-semite?

dashkee94

I think anti semite was auntie ems sister in "The Wizard of Oz", right?

planeden

crap.  first thought after reading that was "it is hard to win when your opponent is just making no sense".  but then a googled it.  i think in this match i am down a queen and a couple of brains.  now i need to start a "when do i resign" thread.

but for all out there, i am not anti-semitic...just anti-spelling.  not sure why, but apparently the big furry creature i was looking for was actually a wookiee.

BowTied

Just what I like, lively banter. Hope I'm not too overdressed for all this fun. Later!

Dear Bow Tied,

Welcome to the sight but I warn you that some rather odd information is shared from time to time. Recently, for example, one member asked what 'dark matter' was and a reply came informing us all that 'Dark Matter' was the name of a nineteenth century race horse from Missouri - can you believe that?

Overdressed? Don't worry. You can be dressed as much as you like. But chess.com policy is that after 23h (your local time) everyone must play naked.
