That would be one amazing Blitz Death Match in the future if they wanted to do it!
Hou Yifan preparing to replace Judit Polgar as Women's #1?

I would rather see Yifan Hou play Judit Polgar in a match than the World Chess Championship, by far. 16 classical games of chess.

I was suggesting actual classical match, like a first to 5 wins or something. Last women's championship had a £200,000 prize fund, I'm sure something similar or greater could be arranged for a Hou Yifan and Judit Polgar match. Hou is 1-0 against her so far in classical chess and is the closest a woman has come to her rating. I think it'd be a fantastic match, the public should just crowd fund and a few sponsors would probably sign on too.

+1
Well, only because it's Anand - Carlsen v2.0

There was talk a couple years ago of a Hou Yifan-Judit Polgar match. To date, they've only played once, with Hou Yifan winning. Right now, I'd put my money on Hou to win. It's only a matter of time (and perhaps not much time) before Hou overtakes Polgar.
Hou's chess style is fantastic! She plays slightly offbeat openings, gets her opponents confused, and has really sharp tactics. Her endgame technique has been good enough to stymie even Kramnik! Interestingly, her play against Koneru in a recent world championship match was rated among the highest performances, move by move, in the history of chess!
Here's the only game between Hou and Polgar so far.

I think the above game, which I watched live on the Internet broadcast in Gibralter at the time, is the game I've played through the most out of any master game. And that tournament is my favourite I've ever seen:)

It would be impossible to have them face off in a Death Match because Judit Polgar has already competed in one before...against Nigel Short, I believe.

What does this game have to do with Hou and Polgar?
Edit: It must have been the wrong thread:)

Someone should try trysts, but probably someone with some more experience and such. Random Joe probably won't generate much backing.

Maybe this is a job for Chess.com to do! Maybe the owners can sponsor a percentage of the winnings while Kickstarter could add more. The two greatest women to ever play chess would cause interests in world-wide media. Debates would be endless. Europe against Asia. What is not to love about that match!

Polgar also had a great 2011, where she tied for first in the European chess championships, and made it to the final eight out of 128 participants in the World cup. She finished the year with a 2710 rating. I think it would be a great match, with Judit still favoured:)

Trysts, have you played through the games at Biel? Hou Yifan is the real deal. She could qualify for the men's world championship cycle in the next few years at the rate she's improving.

Hou Yifan [has] what it takes to qualify for the men's world championship cycle [in the next few years at the rate she's improving.]
Agreed mersaphe, but SmyslovFan stole your thunder in the post just above yours.

Mersaphe, Hou Yifan's rating is +2600 and climbing. Her performance so far at Biel is well over 2700 and she has had several +2700 performances. She retooled her openings a few months ago and suffered several easy defeats. Now, her openings are the talk of the town!
I didn't say she would be playing Carlsen, I said she could qualify for the men's cycle. She's about where Hikaru Nakamura was at her age. She's good, and getting better. Naka didn't break 2700 til he was 22. Hou Yifan is on pace to break 2700 before then!

I think I've played through every Yifan Hou game she's won for the last four years. I even made a thread because of her four years ago:

She's great!

If Hou Yifan was as good as you say, she would be playing in the strongest chess tournaments with the likes of Carlsen, Kramnik, Anand, Aronian, Nakamura, Ivanchuk, Giri, etc. I understand that she is young, but so far her best tournament result in an event of that caliber was Corus 2013 where she placed 11 out of 14 with a score of 5.5/13 (5 losses, 3 wins, 5 draws). Until she does better against the best male chess players, she hasn't exactly proven herself or what she is capable of.

Loosely based off Hou Yifan's life:

Currently she is competing in Biel in the grandmasters tournament. Before the last round she looks to be in good shape:
Here is a nice win against Giri from this tournament:

Also note that the difference between her and Judit is barely more than 10 rating points:
Has any of you been keeping up with Hou Yifan's recent performance? She's gained 36 points in her last 20 games and her Live rating is at 2665- 11 points short of Judit Polgar's rating of 2676. She's tied for 2nd place with one round to go at the Biel tournament where she's competing against four 2700+ players and a 2698 player. She's beaten Giri early in the tournament and today beat Motylev (2698). It makes you wonder if someone should start a Kickstarter campaign to crowd fund a Hou Yifan- Judit Polgar match!
