If you can challenge any titled player (living or dead) in a chess match, who would it be?

There are seven continents, @thee_black_knight.

thee_black_knight

No a continent has to be earth not ice.

Armatise

There's North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Antarctica.

ChimpCh

The Arctic is not a continent, though most people consider the Arctic to be only Greenland, which is not entirely true

Armatise

@thee_black_knight, geographically, that's not true.

@thee_black_night, Antarctica is considered a continent. Though it is essentially primarily ice, most of it is quite seasonal, with the coast growing and shrinking

I know this, reread my comment that I corrected.

ChimpCh

Yes I understand that @chesssblackbelt, and I won't challenge you on that because you are English and you probably understand more about European History and Geography than I have learned

ChimpCh

But what about all of the Polynesian islands that make up Oceania? I think even though many consider Australia to be a continent, The continent should be called Oceania, which comprises of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Tuvalu, etc.

North and south America are 1 Continent. That makes 6 total life I said. Not 7.

Well, it varies in two ways. You either assume both continents as 1 continent, America or assume both as two separate continents.

ChimpCh

@thee_black_night, the fact that North and South America are one continent is entirely an opinion. So everyone can have their own opinion on it, there is not right or wrong.

ZenChess210

Seven continents

There are seven continents in the world, according to most standards. In order from smallest to largest, they are: Oceania, Europe, Antarctica, South America, North America, Africa, and Asia.Jul 9, 2023

It entirely depends on your education or how you were taught.

ChimpCh

Yes exactly, I agree with @Armatise

Correct thank you

Armatise

Also, sorry @idunnobro813 that this went from titled players to an intense geographical debate.

ChimpCh

And I know that many people have a stereotype that Americans are terrible at geography and ignorant. I think this hurtful generalization is totally uncalled for. We each have our own views and opinions.

Armatise

yes

Yes perhaps we should go back to the topic of the post.
