To be honest I would be > Aronian if I practiced chess from birth, but still < Carlsen
Is Aronian overrated

To be honest, no you wouldn't. The world is full of people who would have been great if only . . . The technical term for those people is self-deluded.
I disagree. If you have any wit and the only thing you did was play chess since birth and you played in thousands of tournaments and read thousands of chess books, I think you would have a fairly good chance of achieving a rating higher than carlsen.

Now, after Kasparov, there's Carlsen. There's always one of these inbetween "greats" until the next true chess great appears on the scene.
I have no fondness for Carlsen, but I wouldn't want to denigrate his greatness. He's "only" the highest-rated player in the history of the game.

Caruana just surpassed Aronian, becoming the #2 ranked player in the world.
This is the first time in a year (I believe) Aronian wasn't #2

Maybe Kramnik and Anand have been more of inbetween greats than Carlsen.

What is the highest number of 2800 players at the same time? Carlsen obviously takes alot of rating (Just see how things would be if all top 5 players shared 70 of his rating points), but 4 is a great number, if Grischuk crosses the barrier
If Caruana loses and Aronian draws in the next round Carlsen may be the only 2800+. But if they don't, and Grischuk wins, there may be four 2800+ players.

Three, I think.
2800 is pretty new territory. Time was only Kasparov could reach it. Karpov never came close.
Caruana crossing it is huge milestone for him. Kramnik was 2800+ for quite a while, but his rating has slipped a great deal recently.
But yes, your right. Grischuk is very close.

Caruana won and Aronian drew again. A gap is growing between the two players. For fuck sake now the patzer won't be referred to as the "world number two". Now the overhyping of Aronian will die out.

Depends.
"Number two" is grade-school slang for taking a dump, isn't it?

Would you quit trashing Aronian? Aronian beats Caruana all the time, he is one of the greats. Ok i admit i do say some strong not nessisarially true things about some players (namely Hikaru Nakamura and Bobby Fischer) however i don't call them Patzers, or trash talk about them. If you keep on doing this i will report this as spam.

Funny how you have a picture of Carlsen playing Aronian as if that matchup is special or something. Funny how this is coming from an Aronian fanboy. I wonder if it bugs you that he's no longer the world #2?
Just not at the moment.
