Well, I know a lot of people who are quite intelligent but very bad at chess, so there is definitely no DIRECT links.
Everyone is trying to find a direct link to one person with many Email addresses

Surely not! This is an intelligence thread for god sake....
Yes. Indeed. I read your hyper-analytical views in post #20, and I concur.
You're in an thoughtful frame of mind today, @Stevie65.
Is this related to your new Super Adminstrator role for our little group?
More power to you.
Yes indeed!! I'm looking for decoration tips and new title ideas. One needs to evoke the minds of the intelligent with depth to extract the necessary tools for my project..thanx Z..
True that but also remember IQ is only accurate for a short period of time. After some time knowledge can be deterirated.
To a certain extent for example there is a slieghtly autisitic person in my club and he just cant improve for some people there is just a max. im sure as IQs increase the amount that you can learn is hard to tell but i belive it has some corrilation.
Your stupid simple.
Even funnier!
The OP just joined the site, with a sexy photo, four new threads in one day, and a 2000+ blitz rating.
She has "a friend" (chess engine) that's pretty good at chess "but not too sharp and other things." (both direct quotes).
The jokes on us, methinks.
haha, well played sir!
Really? op? chess engine? LOL, thats just sad. I only started playing on this website because I got a referral from my friend.
Hi Vanessa, in all seriousness this topic comes up from time to time on this site. you can actually search through the database of old threads, or postings of similiar questions if you are seriously looking for the answer I think there is even a equation in some chess book where potential Chess Rating=(IQx10)+1000
Personally I think there are quite a bit of other factors. I have a friend with Aspurbers with a ton of brute force IQ but his tendancy lend him to particularly bad chess habits. Often time I myself know a particular move is less sound as far as opening theory but make in anyway as a play preference. Does that make me stupid, less bright or whatever.. I don't know. I'm not all that bright but chess suits my way of thinking and I pretty much know what I'd have to do get better as far Chess is concernced. I've met some really smart people, top level degree's huge incomes that play chess, just not very well. Like its a proven statistic that doctors are bad at investing money. There alot of different ways to use the gifts that are given us. I don't think a decdent IQ will hurt your chess but I don't think it is the prime factor. Hope that helps have a great day!
Vanessa Martinez is muy hot AND she's got a 2000 rating in Blitz. That means she'd probably be around 2200 F.C.C.A., e.g. National Master Level in Cuba and probably the Estados Unido as well also.
I did not know in America you can be in High School and College at the same time?
Mes Amigos! Dude, I went to college a bunch of time in highschool... sheesh ya
Intelligence is a bit of a fake concept. Someone can be a highly skilled mathmetician and find it difficult to string ten words together; a wonderful sculptor and struggle to read fluently; a great cook but quite incapable of getting on with other people.
There are just too many things which are said to require intelligence but which employ different skills and different parts of the brain.
