Live Chess - Blitz

try playing longer times agianst better players.  You have no record for anything over 5 minutes.  Blitz chess is alot of tricks, traps and beating the clock.  I mean come on you are a bright girl.  You are very lucky to have so many gifts.  Average opponent 1500 in 5 minute chess.... Im sorry but that does not make you smart or good at chess.

I'm not going to say chess is bad but when its too long its broing and when its like day move iforget about my turn.

Playing the computers are a good way to learn.

omg whatever.  Yes learn, but not give you the ability to insinuate that you have a better IQ then me because of it.  LOL...  the computers on here are most easy to beat and I often reccomend to people who want to inflate thier ratings that playing the comp is a good way to do it.

Vanessa_Martinez

playing blitz is better because its just short enough for me to play between classes or when I study. Now im just use to 5 min games 10 mins is a little to long for me 15 or 30 min games that crazy.

I dig it, its also very popular these days.  I was merely prefacing that before you are so sure of your chess rating perhaps establish one that has more substance to it.  In any case best wishes and good luck in your studies, quests for knowledge and this oh so awesome game of Chess.  ~peace

Next time may we have the pleasure of meeting,, I'll play you for your lunch money!  Cool

I find it amusing how so many chess players claim to have high intellignece-quotients. 98% are lying and thinks online IQ tests are reliable.

Lol, whatever you say I even showed my teacher with two master degrees my IQ and she told me I am 3 points short of hers.

Vanessa_Martinez

I even got a certificate in my collection of awards showing my IQ.

Vanessa_Martinez

But that doesnt matter what matters is that the questions is now solved sort of.

You suddenly got a bit defensive. Did I say something that made you nervous?

People who boast about their IQs are losers anyway.

DeviousMethods

[Not that my rating or IQ have much weight but...]

According to Brian Wall in Denver, whom I am learnign from:  Only playing bullet and blitz can sabotage your ability to understand chess on a positional and theoretical basis.  Pattern recognition improves, but in general your only learning tricks and traps.  To ever become a strong player you must play games where you can evaluate the complexity of chess outside of the restraints of minutes and seconds.  Guess its boring then...haha

Vanessa, you seem really nice.  I have no college degree but worked as Project Manager for Toll Brothers Inc.  I had the firm displeasure of meeting a very large selection of equally bright folks and watching them make some of the Dumbest choices I could fathom.  IQ isn't everything.  like in chess, life is how you use the information you are given.  BTW, I was told my IQ was only a few points shy of yours when I was young.  All 3 of my daughters are in Gifted programs, my oldest is frequently selected with one other girl in her program to represent her class in selected field trips.  I don't think I've trumpeted that here or felt the need to.  I am happy with my chess and I think many here have more then amply aswered you question.  You don't have to feel the need to impress anyone with your awards and classes.  Do you, for you.  It will help hurt you, in the end..

You are not good at arguing though. Your "arguments" aren't valid. If you do like to debate and argue, I suggest signing up for a debate course at college or high school.

oh boy you wanna start something again? ya buddy besides debate club got closed at my school last year, sad times, anyways it doesnt matter.
