It's obviously a bit of dark-humored entertainment. M3GAN will eliminate the first 4 cats, then Mittens will become our hero by dropkicking M3GAN into oblivion in a high-rated chess match! Chess.com is also obviously pretending that M3GAN is hacking the site. I think it's all very funny except that a) I like the cats 🐈 and hate to see them become victims, even though they aren't real, and b) this joke has caused my archived games with the cats (except Mittens) to disappear from my phone.

I’m with you 156. I’m glad the are digital cats. I don’t like that the bot resembles the Olson twins. It’s creepy to say the least.
