Why is it that is seams there is a lack of curticy in chess anymore?  I don't understand why people can't say Good Game, even if it wasnt.  I Think the chess world is losing its respect for the game a little at a time.  Please comment.

So you mean you want people to lie? If a game is good, then say good game. If it's not, then you can just say thank you, or nothing.

Also forgot to mention, sometimes if i play awful but my opponent actually played well ( even though the game was being handed to him on a silver platter) I will say something along the lines of "GG  on your part

You are simply making my point for me.  It was not the fact that you are lying it might have been a very good game for the person you are playing but the only thing you are into is your self.  If you think the game was bad then offer a little advice or something.  You should not just leave it.  This comes across as rude.  There is a moral standerd that is lacking in most of the comments.  I do however like the "thank you" idea and will use that one.  There is another person on the other side of the board not just you.

I agree with the thank you part, anther thing I notice is when I observe a game of one of my friends the other observers are having a conversation or making comments. I was always taught that when I observe a game I shut my mouth, on top of that the mouth of some of my oppents is rather scary when were playing. Chess has always been one of those games that just as important as the piece movements is how to act, I feel some people forgot that. Some loses I have were good games like making a 1600 go 60 plus move to mate me after I made 2 blunders I'm proud of this fact I didn't rollover for him. So I guess it would depend on the loss and how its precieved, yes it sucks to lose but was it a fighting loss or did you just blunder yourself in destruction, Sometimes you learn more from loss than winning. One last thing Igo through this alot I begin playing to much Chess and let my emotions rule I forget my manners of manhood when someone beats me and I become way to critical of myself!!! Karpov and the rest made blunders in big games So I assume I a puny Orcgrunt will make more than they did. It does make you wonder how many  blunders people like Carlsen made when Kasparov was training him!!! good topic to write on

Sincerly Orcgrunt.

It's always a good game ("gg" or otherwise) to me...win, lose or draw....excellent play or horrible blunders...I learn and enjoy the game no matter what. And I agree...seems like people are not very friendly about things these days. It's a game...the best game ever, true..but it's still a game.
