Aside from feeling kind of stupid, I'd worry about long term problems related to odors and seat cushions.

playing in the buff would let you think unencumbered, but your opponent maybe distracted, unable to look you in the eye
OK, so we haul around towels and such...but wait, why not attach that towel to you, so you free up your hands and don't have to go looking for towels or forget them. Looks like I just invented clothes!
