That sucks. Bought some of his books 10+ years ago.
i thought he was young 69 isnt too old either though but at least it wasnt like 40

By the way, I think strictly following his thinking process is very bad unless you're already master level. I don't think he realized how impractical it is for most players. Calculation is much more important to lower levels, and he recommended not making that your first step in any position.
Having said that, the idea of imbalances is useful at every level, and he really did make high level concepts accessible to the general public, so the books were rightfully popular, and helped a lot of people improve... it's just strict adherence is bad, IMO.

Oh no. I was wondering why his great website of chess book reviews didn't work any more. Very sad. IMHO he was a great author. I hope someone will take care of all his websites so that the content can still be reached, that's the least one can do to preserve his legacy.

This is very sad, although I'm the polar opposite of what he advocated (I'm playing almost only outrageously tactical and aggressive dubious chess moves) I had a book from him explaining good stuff (weak squares etc) and it helped.
