I've seen my share of pointless blogs in my time and this topic is by far the most mundane and boring of them all. Lets not stop at bobby fischer. What if god wasn't god. What type of job would god have? What if Shaneekwa did not serve my fries...would she be a lawyer? What kind of shrooms are we taking to even put forth the energy of typing this ridiculous notion of wondering all the possibilities in the universe. Lets stop imagining the 5th dimension here and lets get back to reality...but, however pointless as your question that started this whole thing "justingoodhart", everyone knows that bobby fischer was kind of creepy and fit the profile of a sex offender rather than a chess genius. If Bobby Fischer were just another Bobby in a sea of normal society, I would imagine he wouldn't have a job. He would be locked up or in a mental instituion with no talents or fame. just another wierdo that you would encounter roaming the streets of downtown san francisco.
I agree with Schachgeek, he would have made a fortune playing poker in Reno and Vegas.

Fischer behaved the way he did because he felt that his status as a chess genius entitled him to say and do anything he wanted to and get away with it without serious consequences. Had Fischer been an average Joe he probably would have behaved in a civil manner, if only out of necessity.
