Where can I find a list of members banned?

Does such a list exist?.

It may well be a good idea to also know why... just in case they 'resurrect' under a new Alias.

Thanks for your advice.

Fantastic help Goldendog.

Much appreciated.

Actually, I never thought that there would be such a huge amount of cheaters. Winning like, what for?

kissinger

a person who cheats here is like a cat chasing its tail........just hinking outloud....

Diabeditor

By cheating, you mean setting up multiple accounts and essentially "playing with yourself"?

Or are some players banned for using computer help? I don't have Fritz but I suspect some of my opponents do. Tough to prove though.

I think chess.com can indeed prove it.

Really liked that!!! Funny but it may prove true.

Diabeditor

Wow, that's quite a lengthy list of cheats! I presume that once an account is closed, a guy just starts a new account with a new handle and email address. He'd have to start all over, but if he's cheating anyway, it's not like it would take long to build up his rating again.

CarVilla

That's true Diabeditor. But, one (easy) way to overcome issue is keeping a record of IP addresses usually used by any particular handle. Maybe Chess.com has thought about that and that's a kind of standard precautionary measure for any site.

My particular reason to try and see the list was a bit of suspicion about someone who vanished overnight and then re-emerged with a new name. Useful to have in hand, just in case we start smelling something 'fishy'.

Cheaters, however, will always a find a way.

slvnfernando

Cheaters! They re everywhere!

ASpieboy

They should make a graphic where the cheater's pictures are on bloody spikes.

Ego and to increase their meaningless rating so they'll feel important.

ozzie_c_cobblepot

I think the list is pretty small, given the number of registered members here.

ChessJam7

It seems pointless to build up your score that way.  If you get caught, you lose it and have to start over anyway.  They've forgotten that chess is also fun.  Seems like they got too caught up in the competition.

good question! Sometimes I can assume when someone cheats, for example when someone is around my rating and suddanly starts to play accurate like machine or when i later analize the game in computer and see that my opponent played every move that computer recomended...

Chess.com has assured and proved they do have the means to catch cheaters but, evidently, they will not be revealing their methods and techniques. Best thing is to report every suspicious case.

CarVilla

Stunned that Ouachita, the (by then) chess.com member with the highest score, nearly 3000, got caught cheating. Unbelievable. Also found a couple I've been playing against in the latest lists.
