fischer is my favourite player, followed by Alelkhine, Capablanca and Morphy.
Tal is my favourite chess player.
Capa and Carlsen.
I'd probably say Viswanathan Anand. He sure seems like he's the most accomplished player. He won the title in 2007 ( Single world champion). He defended EASILY against Kramnik in 2008. Defended against Topolov in 2010, but needed Topolov to completely collapse in the last game. He defended against Boris Gelfand in 2012 where Boris had an early lead in the match but gave it all back and more to Anand's superior play.
I hear Kasparov saying Magnus Carlson will beat Anand in India, but I don't get that feeling. Home field advantage for Anand, much more experience for Anand, and more individual successes overall.
i like anand,s games too.he plays really nice with sacrifices and strong tactics.he is current chess champion
It's surprising no one said Aaron Nimzowitsch, he was a top player for a long time and his ideas are wonderfull ! Look at the Nimzo-indian and any modern opening that no one ever dared to play before him ! He transformed the entire world of chess into something even greater ! (ok, forget that last part but he really was great...)
Something like this at the moment:
1. Emmanuel Lasker
Nimzowitsch, I hate his opening variations though.Next would be Capablanca.
I'm my favorite chess player.
Followed closely by alexandra kosteniuk, but we won't get into that.
Boris Gelfand! then Peter Svidler then Levon Aronian
Spassky. Fischer, Korchnoi, and Tal weren't able to put up much resistance against him during Spassky's peak.
